The MPC hits Abbey Road

What a weekend this choir just had. Around 45 choristers spent two fabulous days in the iconic Studio 2 of Abbey Road. Home to some of the most famous recordings from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Oasis, Adele and now... the MPC.

We're not going to lie - it was blooming hard work but at the end of day one we had four tracks pretty much down and on schedule and on day two the final four were completed.

A big shout out to the wonderful staff at the studios who were so friendly, helpful, fantastic and interested in our project. And to our Musical Director Richard Fox who got the very best performances out of us even when it was Take 19 and we were flagging! Also to our wonderful sound engineer Roland who was unfailingly polite even for those takes which left a bit to be desired and our accompanist Helen who played so beautifully all weekend.

Obviously the zebra crossing came in for some extended use but bear with us - we were all soooo excited just to be there. And finally if we are allowed to blow our own trumpets for one tiny second... what we heard played back to us sounded pretty good. We have been singing Christmas music since July, would you believe, but at rehearsal today we can leave the Carols for Choirs book at home for a few weeks.

Zebra crossing shenanigans

Soon we will let you all know how to purchase one of these Christmas CDs and perhaps you can grab one or three for the festive stocking. But for now, what a weekend, what a space, what an experience!
