Testimonials

We enjoy getting feedback from concert organisers (audience members too!). Below are several testimonials from concert organisers - if you have feedback from one of our concerts please contact us

"I very much enjoyed the wonderfully varied concert yesterday evening at the Church of Holy Sepulchre. Your singers were really putting their heart and soul into it and the enthusiasm shone through!"
- Anthony Weaver, Choirs Beyond Dover

"Thank all of you for a truly memorable concert last night at St. Sepulchre's Church. Spine tingling performances. I did manage to keep the music purely in my mind on the way home on the train and not inflict fellow passengers with any unmelodious rendition myself!
Wishing you all the very best."

- Elaine

"I have been basking in the memories of the lovely concert last night (and humming Adiemus and lots of songs from Les Miserables).

I have had so many positive comments both from the KK choir (who were in awe of the Met Police Choir but also really inspired by them) and the people in the audience. Personally, I felt I was floating on air with the joy of it!

I find it difficult to comprehend that your mixed choir has only been singing together since last summer - the sound and harmonies they produce are stunning. Also because of the sheer range of your repertoire which reaches wide in time and genre, and from fun to beauty to soulful. And the medleys were so well put together (I choked up a little during the Les Mis medley).

I mentioned to some of your choir members and also to the audience that we will try to take a leaf out of your book in terms of singing not just with your voice, but singing with your all (your whole body, all your concentration, and putting it all across to the people you're singing to). It's something I've been trying to emphasise to our choir this last term and for them seeing it actually happening in the way your choir members invested in their singing will really help drive the point home.

Last, but not least, the way you have encouraged new singers to take on solos is also very inspiring to me. The supportive reception they received is something I will be highlighting to our choir members (most of whom shy away from trying solos).

In short, it has been a truly wonderful experience for all of us in Kith & Kids and I am so glad that from your side too it was inspiring. That you and your choir (some individual members said the same) would like to do something together again soon, is both humbling and joyous to us.

Here's to another shared enjoyable experience before long.

- Marjolein, Kith and Kids

"We just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge thank you to you and the Choir for your amazing performance at our wedding yesterday. It was a really special part of the day for us and made us so proud to have you all there. All of the guests spent the day talking about the London medley and it's no exaggeration that it was a highlight for everyone.

I can't say how grateful we are to you all for giving up your Saturday and travelling to Staines to help us celebrate. We're just sorry we didn't get to meet you all and say thank you in person at the end. We hope to see you again and also will be thinking about you all performing at the funeral next week.
Thank you again.

- Alison & Wayne

"This is now the third year that I have the great pleasure of writing to you to tell you that your MPS choir were amazing. Tonight they performed at the three choir concert at Epsom Downs and were just such a credit to the service. I have now had the privilege of joining the choir, however as the events organiser for the Epsom Downs event I can step out of my choir role and give you the feedback from members of the audience and the other choirs.

The comments have been incredible. Many have attended the last two events so they have seen the new choir in its evolved form. It's important to say that the MPS Choir have always been brilliant, the new choir is going from strength to strength and the fact that it now reflects the service at all levels is such a bonus. Members of the audience were absolutely swept away with the sound and passion of the choir and to see the MPS in such a different light really blew them away.

Without doubt the MPS choir is a secret weapon for the armoury in improving confidence/approachability with the public and long may this last. Richard Fox is an outstanding Director of Music, achieving great things, which considering he has to work and is a PC is an incredible feat."

- Jessica Craik, Concert Organiser

"I can also confirm that event was a great success. I also attended the Requiem mass at Westminster cathedral on the 16th November where the Choir sounded fantastic. Even the Archbishop Of Westminster commented on how good they were."
- James Hargraves - Sutton High School

"I really enjoyed hearing the other choirs, the police choir, in particular - you sounded fantastic."
- Thomas Craik, Inspector

"Excellent concert this evening - Thank you!"
- Royal British Legion, Banstead

"The Metropolitan Police Choir plays a really important part in our organisation. They are not only a wonderful advertisement for the Metropolitan Police Service but also play an important role as ambassadors for the service throughout the year, at an ever increasing number amount of concerts and events. I am truly honoured to have been invited to support the choir as their Chair. The choir has a long and distinguished history, they continue to make a significant contribution to the organisation, it's people and London's communities, using music to mark special or solemn occasions as well as celebrate the best of our organisation and great city. The 'feel good factor' that audiences experience following each of their exceptional performances can only help reinforce public confidence in the professionalism and commitment of our staff."
- Richard Wood, Chief Superintendent

"Thank you very much to the Metropolitan Police Choir for attending the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims service on Sunday. We are so grateful that you were again able to be part of the service, and the pieces you performed were incredibly moving.
I know that the choir's contribuion was appreciated by all present with our members appreciative of the opportunity to come together to remember their loved ones, and to give thanks for the work done by the Emergency Services."

- Beccie D'Cunha, Chief Executive Officer, RoadPeace

"Just to let you know that yet again the Metropolitan Police Choir gave an incredible performance at our three choir remembrance concert last Monday 16th November. Last year was our first joint choir performance which raised money for both the Royal British Legion and the COPS charity. We decided to repeat the event and again were so please to be supported by the 'boys'. The three choirs featured the MPS, Sutton High School and our local community choir. The audience so enjoy the performances and as they are so experienced and so professional they are a crowd pleaser and such a credit to the service.
We have decided that we will now maintain this as a yearly event and the MPS choir have kindly agreed to support us again next year. I would be very grateful if you could formally pass on a huge thank you from Sing Community Choir, the feedback has been incredible. Thank you so much."

- Jessica Craik, Organiser of the Great War Concert (2015)

"People are still talking today of what a great evening last night was and how much they enjoyed it. I never had any doubt that it would be anything less than what you came up with, because you had performed so brilliantly the last time that you performed at our event. So let me give everyone who came to represent the Metropolitan Police Choir last night a huge thank you for making the evening such a superb success."
- Dr Keith Watkin, Banstead

"Your choir sang so beautifully for our Christmas lunch in Inner Temple last week. As I have said every year, your choir is the highlight of the celebrations. Without their wonderful voices filling the Parliament Chamber the day would have no atmosphere of Christmas. With them it was a magical day. I cannot thank you enough for fitting us in at this very busy time of the year for the Metropolitan Police."
- Lady Mary Auld, The Gainsford Trust

"Thank you very much to you and all of the members of the Metropolitan Police Choir for attending the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims service on Sunday. The pieces you performed were again of the upmost quality and the choir's contribution was appreciated by all present. We were not always so fortunate as to have such an accomplished choir and we are very grateful for your support."
- Amy Aeron-Thomas, Executive Director of RoadPeace

"... I just wanted you to know how proud I was to be an MPS police officer this evening. Our local community choir asked the Met Police Choir to join us for a joint event earlier this year. They readily agreed and suggested linking the event to the National Last Post Commeration events. Tonight the Metropolitan Police Choir, a local school choir and our community choir joined together for a spectacular event which raised money for The British Legion and the COPS police charity. The Metropolitan Police Choir were so professional, smart, engaging and an absolute credit to the service. We have just returned home with both old and young saying how fabulous the police were."
- Jess Craik, Organiser of the Great War Concert (2014)

"... I would like to personally congratulate you all on your singing yesterday afternoon at our Guild's Requiem Mass. You were superb, you were fantastic, you were awesome, you brought tears to my eyes ... heartfelt thanks for adding immensely to the spirit of the occasion ... your singing was stirring, sublime, stupendous. Congratulations every one of you. We all look forward to hearing you again next year..."
- Maurice Garvie, Fellow of the Catholic Police Guild

"Please accept my sincere thanks for your wonderful performance at our Remembrance Service last Monday. I appreciate that it was a short notice event, so thank you all for coming together and making it a service to remember. Everyone whom I have spoken to have praised the choir and passed on their thanks".
- Paul Rickett, Chief Superintendent (Westminster Borough)

"Many thanks to the choir for your magnificent performance yesterday. You all made the afternoon a truly joyous occasion for the residents, families, staff and volunteers".
- Mary Taylor, Royal Star & Garter volunteer

"It simply wouldn't be the same without you".
- Ch Supt Wood, Greenwich Borough Commander

- Phil Shannon, the Captain of Invalids, Royal Hospital Chelsea
